Estimate

We will provide you with an estimate at the time of arranging which will set out the services we agree to supply. The estimate is an indication of the charges likely to be incurred based on the information and details we know at the date of the estimate. We will make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the estimate, the charges are liable to alteration particularly where third parties change their rates or charges.

We may not know the full cost of third-party charges in advance of the funeral, however we will give you the best estimate of such charges in the written estimate. The actual amount of the charges will be detailed and shown in the Final Account. If you amend your instructions we may require your written confirmation of the changes. We will ask you to sign and date the estimate at time of arranging and we may ask for up to 50%of the estimate before the funeral takes place or as a minimum the disbursement charges incurred. A disbursement is any product or service where the cost is not determined by us. You can make payment using cash, cheque or via BACS. Any personal cheque received will be subject to clearance.

Payment Arrangements

As the applicant you are personally responsible for the payment of the account. The full amount is due for payments within 14 days of the final account date. If you fail to pay by the due date we may charge interest at a rate above the banks base rate and overdue accounts still outstanding after 60 days may be passed on to another Company to collect on our behalf. This account will also be subject to legal cost incurred.

DWP (Department for work and pensions)

If you have made or intend to make an application for a DWP Funeral Payment or any other financial assistance or grant to help you pay for the funeral, it is likely that it will only cover part of the Funeral Cost that you owe us. In some cases, an application for a DWP payment or any other financial assistance or grant may not be successful or only partly successful. It is important to remember that in all these circumstances you will still be responsible to us for payment of any outstanding money in relation to the funeral Cost.
